About Cynthia Belt

Dr. Belt is a perceptive psychiatrist who works well with clients of all ages, orientations and backgrounds with mutual respect. Her style is collaborative, taking into account clients’ preferences for modalities of treatment and how aggressively or not they want to use medications. Clients of Dr. Belt feel heard and respected throughout their treatment process. She also counts many physicians among her clients.

Dr. Belt sees each of her clients as a whole person. She conducts assessment and treatment with a biopsychosocial model. Dr. Belt integrates therapy with expert medication management, and she also encourages other wellness approaches.

Dr. Belt is well-versed in several mood disorders including depression and bipolar. She also treats many different anxiety disorders.

CREDENTIALS:

Dr. Belt graduated from Mayo Medical School, one of the most selective in the U.S. Her board certifications include adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and she is board eligible in family practice. Dr. Belt completed a combined residency in family practice and psychiatry at the University of Minnesota, followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry also at the University of Minnesota.
