Mental health problems, daily stressors, and chronic pain or illness can take a major toll on our lives. Thus, one of my specialties is helping individuals deal with chronic pain, illness and fatigue issues that can impact a person’s current mental health or cause mental health symptoms to arise. I also specialize in treatment of anxiety disorders, depression and grief management, life transitions, PTSD and trauma, sleep issues, stress management, and women’s issues. Throughout my over 25 years of experience in the fields of community corrections, substance abuse, and mental health, I have become passionate about advocating for my clients and their needs. I have worked closely and provided services to multicultural individuals ranging from adolescents and teenagers, to adults of all ages, to guide them towards the change they seek and the life they envision.
My goal is to help each individual gain mastery over the challenges they face though increasing the understanding of past experiences, learning new coping skills and tools, and realizing one’s potential. My direct, but respectful approach is the most prominent and helpful aspect of my work with clients.
I provide a safe, supportive and judgement-free environment where clients can experience hope, healing, and empowerment. I enjoy helping clients feel empowered to make positive, long-lasting changes. My approach to treatment is collaborative and guided by core behavioral principles to help clients harness their strengths and gain control of their thoughts, feelings and relationships. I provide a strength-based approach while introducing evidenced-based strategies to help the client manage challenges. In order to customize treatment to each individual’s needs, I use a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Supportive Psychotherapy and Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy. I also utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage with people, expanding on their individual strengths and skills in alignment with their cultural background. I have found that the ability to apply different theories, while taking a holistic approach, ensures the best possible therapeutic outcomes.

Think of us as your cheerleaders on the sidelines. You've seen it, the smile, the simple nod of the head. Small gestures that say: we understand, we are listening and we are here for you. That's who we are.
