DAWN SCHULDT, MA, LMFT

About Dawn Schuldt

As your therapist, I seek to provide a safe and supportive place for you to work through the issues and challenges you face. I hold the deep belief that everyone has intuitive strengths and wisdom. Thus, I work collaboratively with people so they may discover their own values and create workable, effective solutions. Whether you wish to work individually or bring in members of your family, I am flexible in my approach to guide you toward wellness. My style is mindfulness-based, holistic, and “integrative” and utilizes a wide knowledge base to effectively blend a variety of therapeutic approaches, depending on the issues and persons involved.

Therapy is NOT a “cure-all” and I am NOT a “miracle worker.” Much of successful therapy depends upon how hard you are willing to work outside of the therapy session to make your life different.

Everyone needs a direction, once in a while.

I launched my career over 30 years ago working with individuals and families in crisis, promoting their sense of empowerment while helping to preserve their integrity. Since then I have raised a family, worked in a variety of settings, and earned my Master’s degree in Human Development with an emphasis on individual and marriage and family therapy. As a licensed therapist with years of professional, as well as parenting and life experience, I seek to provide a safe, hopeful and supportive environment, conducive for growth and healing as people work through transitions, individual and/or relational issues and loss.

Therapy, generally, is one component as people work to resolve emotional or relational challenges. Truly, it only works if you are fully engaged in seeking change and positive SELF-CARE—physically, socially, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually. Therapy is NOT a “cure-all” and I am NOT a “miracle worker.” In fact, I plan to work myself out of a job as you find your answers! Much of successful therapy depends upon how hard you are willing to work outside of the therapy session to make your life different. As a fellow human, I am available to listen non-judgmentally and hopefully, with validating empathy. As a professional therapist, I may have some information and/or ideas on how you can discover what will resolve your problem and help you attain peace & wellness.

Think of us as your cheerleaders on the sidelines. You've seen it, the smile, the simple nod of the head. Small gestures that say: we understand, we are listening and we are here for you. That's who we are.
