Easter, a time for a family get-together. Like any other holiday, the expectations are there. A clean house, a perfectly set dinner table, delicious food, with nothing less than perfection.
It could also be a time of high-stress situations. A house full of relatives and friends can create feelings of anxiety and panic. Having to care for all these people might seem impossible at the time. You just might want to hide in the closet. Yet, you still keep striving for a perfection. But your emotions can spiral into hopelessness as this happy time turns into a nightmare.
Stop and think about you. Think about what you want. What is best for you? Your friends and family just want to see you happy. If it means that your dog did not get a bath this morning and your Easter dinner has only 6 side dishes instead of 10, it is ok.
If you are faced with challenges which make you feel uncomfortable or seem unrealistic, just say no. Your friends and family will be more than understanding. Don’t make excuses. If you had cancer or the flu, everyone would understand.
